Online therapy can sometimes be cheaper than a face-to-face session. Dr Arkell found that in some cases, he can glean a more emotional tone over the phone without the visual distractions, or in other instances seeing someone in their own home can also give the clinician more information. “Therapists had been rather sniffy about it in the past, but according to research we did with our therapists in July, the majority are happy to use it, and many think it has offered extra insights into their clients.”Ĭonsultant clinical psychologists such as Dr Croft find that they can offer more sessions, welcome news both for the therapist and for those seeking treatment who often face waiting lists. "The attitude to online therapy has utterly changed,” says Chunn. Online therapy is also working well for therapists themselves in a way that was previously unthinkable. The only real difference was that telephone sessions were generally shorter. It found there was little difference in terms of how effective the therapeutic relationship was, how much clients disclosed or levels of empathy, attentiveness and participation. More recent research, published in the Journal of Affective Disorders in March 2020, focused on the differences in quality of interactions between face to face and telephone psychotherapy. Several studies from around the world, including ones from the US’s Northwestern University and Germany’s Leipzig University (both in 2014) suggest that online therapy is just as effective as face-to-face work for clients, especially longer-term. Since many countries (the UK, France, New Zealand, Germany and Italy among them) started introducing lockdowns in March 2020, remote therapy has become more accessible, more available, and less stigmatised - fantastic news for anyone finding life difficult. The stigma around online therapy is diminishing fast The WHO also noted that there are significant disparities in the uptake of online help more than 80 per cent of high-income countries reported deploying online therapy to bridge gaps in mental health services in person, compared to less than half of low-income countries. Issues such as having the requisite technology, and internet access and data allowance costs, mean digital therapy might not be suitable for some of those most in need, such as older people, those with reading difficulties or on lower incomes. But, as the weekly medical journal reported in July, there are drawbacks associated with the use of remote therapies. In China, WeChat, in particular, is being used to deliver online psychological counselling services, according to a paper published in The Lancet in February 2020.

Unlocking the initial Family Ties Ability not only increases Nightwing's defense and resistance stats, but working with other members of the Batman Family also gives additional boosts to Melee damage (Batgirl), Ranged damage (Red Hood), and Stealth damage (Robin). Nightwing does have some great moves, but what sets him apart from the other heroes is how he improves with allies. This pulls you out to an aerial view of Gotham City when activated, allowing you to move a reticule around and select where you want to beam yourself to, and although it looks cool this does have a time limit and short range so isn't practical for travelling larger distances. Robin has the most unusual Knighthood traversal ability of the Batman Family, unlocking the Slideways teleport system from the Justice League satellite. Later Abilities allow Robin to disappear completely for a brief time, allowing you to infiltrate areas or escape danger. Robin is also the only character who can perform Batman's classic Vantage Hanging Takedown move, where you dive down to grab and suspend an enemy from a vantage point. After unlocking the Ability to move around silently while running, you can acquire Turnabout Takedown that allows you to perform Takedowns and Stealth Strikes on large enemies, which can give you a huge advantage when it comes to fighting a group of foes. Robin is an excellent choice of character if you prefer to take a sneaky approach to combat, instead of storming in hot. Free the scientists from STAR Labs in Gotham Knights Subsequent groups displayed about the same group size without the flyer, but none produced seven shots in one hole. I suspect the first shot was the gun settling into the grip adapter. My first 10-shot string at 25 yards off the Ransom rest produced a right side flyer, a left side shot and put seven of the next eight shots in one hole. This Springfield gun is well finished inside and out.Īpparently, the old school internals didn’t have an adverse effect on accuracy. Lots of ergonomic features can be found on the outside of the Ranger Officer, accompanied with basic 1911 interior parts. The Range Officer is well finished inside and out, and I actually like the old style short recoil spring guide. The barrel is stainless steel and is slightly larger at the muzzle end, but otherwise there are no new tricks. Inside, the Ranger Officer is old school. Almost every ergonomic feature you’d ask for on a 1911 target pistol is already there. The magazines are stainless steel and have witness holes. The trigger is a long one with an Allen screw over-travel adjustment. The hammer is skeletonized and large enough to easily disengage, in spite of the big rear sight, and there’s an extended safety lever. The Range Officer was fun to shoot and capable of winning matches at a club level right out of the box. Grips are cocobolo with good checkering and the familiar Springfield Armory logo. I would have liked the same stippling on the front of the grip frame as well, but it’s smooth. The mainspring housing is the flat pre-A1 style and well stippled, another feature I like. I sometimes have a problem with the 1911’s grip safety, but this one is big enough to ensure engagement. There’s a large, extended beavertail on the grip safety and a healthy bump on the bottom for guys like me with sparse palms. The Range Officer is loaded with features found on guns twice the price. While such sights may be a poor choice for concealment, they’re a boon on the range. The rear sight has solid and tactile clicks, and screw heads big enough for regular screwdrivers. Dot sights are wonderful for novice shooters and defensive work, but they do little for speed and accuracy in competition. The front is a partridge with no adorning dots, something I like. In terms of sheer performance, I’ve found Microsoft’s Edge to be less RAM-hungry than Chrome tends to be. Something each of these three browsers has to offer in varying measures.įirefox, while the only one of my dwindled shortlist not based on the Chromium skeleton, is the ideal Chrome replacement in many ways, it can practically slip right into the boots of Google’s browser and get you on your way in an instant. It all came down to features, general performance, customization, and privacy/security. My choices aren’t exactly based on strict, laboratory-tested benchmarks. Personally, when it came to replacing Google Chrome I was left with three clear choices: Opera One/GX, Vivaldi, and Firefox. After I gave up Chrome, here’s where I ended up That doesn’t mean I’m going to start attacking my plumbing with a screwdriver in retaliation. There’s a valiant notion behind it all, but at the end of the day, you should pick what works best for you.Īvoiding Chromium browsers simply “because Google” is akin to refusing to drink water anymore because you heard it's the primary ingredient in tsunamis. In other words, don’t feel pressured to abandon Chromium entirely when looking for a new home for your homepage. However, it seems increasingly likely that we’re heading toward a homogenized landscape, one where Google holds all of the cards. Personally, unless there’s a sharp and sudden shift in the winds, I don’t see Google’s internet influence dipping by any considerable measure in the near future - but I do see it growing in size.ĭon’t get me wrong, it’s great that there are viable Chromium alternatives available. (Image credit: Bing Image Generator (Powered by Dall.E 3)) Among the browsers I’ve been testing, here are some of the best non-Chromium options available: If you really want to get under the thumb of Google, this is by far and large the best way to do so. Of course, it’s still Google’s project and, while it allows these browsers to take advantage of the tool’s impressive features, it does afford Google a lot of power over the direction of the internet - especially when it comes to web and browser standards.įor that reason, many suggest steering clear of Chromium browsers altogether. And, look to your right, there’s the hilariously named Coc Coc, the variant of Chrome that would’ve happened if the Googleplex took flight and settled in Vietnam.Ĭhromium is a fantastic open-source platform, one that allows developers to quickly build upon and innovate. Awash in a sea of Chrome clones?Ĭhromium-based browsers aren’t so much re-skins of Chrome as they are the multiversal equivalents of it. To many, these browsers are little more than re-skins of Chrome, and I say to that many: please stop emailing me to tell me you think so - it’s boring. In large part (but not entirely), that’s thanks to Google’s Chromium, the foundation of many modern browsers - including its namesake Chrome. The majority of the time, it was business as usual, albeit under a different banner than what I’d previously worked under. The 507 Comp also does not have a solar panel on it which means there is also no auto brightness setting. This gives it many reticle configurations like a 2 MOA Dot only or a 2 MOA dot + 8 or 20 or 32 MOA Circle or just a 8 or 20 or 32 MOA Circle. The 507 Comp has some key differences vs the other optics listed here. Comp stands for "Competition" because this optic features a VERY large window, meant for competition shooting. Next on the list is the Holosun 507 Comp. This is one of the newest and most sought after optics from Holosun. Holosun 507 Comp Green & Red Dot - Largest Window Competition Reticle 10 Brightness Setting: 8 DL & 4 NV CompatibleĨ.Auto Brightness Mode or Manual Mode (MRS Versions Only).2 MOA, 6 MOA, or MRS Versions Available. The MRS Reticle has a solar failsafe and auto brightness mode, the others do not. These EPS models come in red or green and either a 2MOA, 6MOA, or MRS Reticle. The deck height will be the same as the 507C when using the adapter plate but it’s something worth noting. It will be the slide > FN RMR plate > EPS RMR Plate > Optic. It comes with an RMR adapter plate so it will mount directly on the FNX-45 Tactical, but you will have two adapter plates. It has a lower deck height than the 509T and 509. This is Holosun’s latest closed emitter optic and is made out of aluminum. Last but in no way the least is the Holosun EPS. I think they pair well with the gun since it’s a rugged, expensive gun to begin with, and pairing it with optics that are similar is a nice match.Īnyway here is a complete list of all the Holosun Optics that will mount directly to your FNX-45 Tactical. These are both made out of titanium which give them extra durability. All the Holosun Red & Green Dot sights we mention here would be great for it but if you ask me personally, but my two favorites are the 508T and the 509T. They have convenient features like Shake Awake and Side Mounted Batteries. They are built sturdily with strong aluminum or titanium housings and glass. Why do we recommend the Holosun Optics vs other options? This plate will mount directly to your slide and then the 509T will clamp to it, this way you are not stacking plates and will have a lower deck height. To eliminate the need for two plates you can purchase a Holosun 509T Adapter Plate. This comes with an RMR adapter plate, this means you will have your FNX-45 Tactical plate + the holosun adapter plate + the optic clamping on top of that plate. One of the optics we’ll be recommending is the 509T which is Holosun’s closed emitter titanium optic. One plate is a Doctor Cut which would fit a Burris FastFire 3 and the other plate is an RMR plate which would fit Trijicon RMR or any of the Holosun Optics we are about to recommend. The FNX-45 Tactical comes with an optics ready slide and ships with two plates. So if you are interested in learning which Holosun Optics fit your FNX 45 Tactical and which we recommend keep reading. He ended up putting a 508T Green on it (which is an excellent choice) but I showed him some other options as well. I don’t have any problems with the RMR, it’s a great optic, but for the price I told him you can get more for your money going the Holosun route. David wanted to put an RMR on it but I convinced him otherwise. I unfortunately do not own one (yet) but my good friend David does. Aesthetically I think it’s one of the nicest looking pistols I’ve ever seen, and the size is perfect. The double action, slide release, safety, trigger, and magazine just make it feel so cool and ready for action. The grip is the perfect shape and angle, and the texture of it is amazing. It was also the first pistol I held with a red dot optic and at the time it was one of the coolest things I've ever seen. I’m not going to lie, the FNX 45 Tactical is one of the nicest pistols I’ve ever held in my hands. You can mount these red dots on an adapter designed specifically for the Docter/Noblex mounting standard, but you will not be able to use the screws supplied with them – thinner screws are needed. Consequently, thicker screws are enclosed. * These red dot sights have a Docter/Noblex mounting standard, but the adapter supplied with them has wider threaded sockets than adapters suited for a Docter/Noblex mounting standard. Not sure if such an adapter plate exists, but regardless you would be better off using a compatible optic for that slide. The Holosun 590T has a unique mounting surface that works similarly to the mounting standard designed for the Picatinny rail. What you have there appears to be a Docter/Noblex mounting standard. ^ kat.cr revived as Archived 23 December 2020 at the Wayback Machine katcr.Damaged 2018 S01 COMPLETE 720p WEB-DL x264 Hangama Web Serie - MoviesBaba. However, you may notice that the DNG file looks different than the Roth file. So the DNG files were saved in the same folder as the original files. So, Topaz needs to convert these raw files to DNG files to apply those edits. We’re just gonna apply some edits so I can show you what happens, at least with my images, once they get back inside Lightroom. I’m really not concerned with the results. So, we have some noise reduction and sharpening applied to this image.Īnd for this image, let’s go ahead and let Autopilot do its thing. I’m going to save these two images back into Lightroom. Now, for my workflow, I like to edit my images in Lightroom first and then bring them into Topaz to fix the noise and sharpen them accordingly. They’ve also stated that they fixed tithing artifacts that occur or appear when we remove noise in our raw files.Īs far as the tiling, I still need to test that and won’t because of a major issue with the raw workflow that I’ve been reporting for months, which is still an issue. So, we have two new options for removing noise in our raw files. So, if we look inside at removing noise here, we can see version one at the bottom and then version two at the top. So, according to Topaz, they’ve added version two of the remove-noise raw models. So I will go up to file plugin extras and select import or process with Topaz photo and AI to use the raw to DNG workflow.Īnd you may notice this little pop-up window and some interface updates with the new tools over here.Īnd we’ll talk about those after we go through the raw workflow. So, I will open these two images into Topaz Photo AI. So we will break down this Topaz Photo AI update into two segments: a raw editing workflow and a non-raw workflow.Īnd that’s because Photo AI 2.0 has been substantially updated.Īt least, that’s what they say regarding raw files and non-raw files. Let’s review the updates, and I’ll let you know if it’s worth updating and using. If you don’t have it yet, check out my affiliate link in the description while it’s on sale, and you can also try it out for free before buying.Īnd that’s the question, is it worth buying? So, I’ve tested these new updates and additions myself and will report in this video whether or not it’s worth updating to the latest version.Īlso, Topaz Photo AI 2.0 is free if you’ve purchased or renewed photo AI in the past year. They’ve improved features like raw noise removal, sharpening Autopilot, and Photoshop integration.Īt least, that’s what was reported in their press release. So Topaz Photo AI 2.0 now has lighting and color adjustments. Ronald Aiello, president of the United States War Dogs Association, points out that Stubby was not even an official "war dog. "Humans are fallible, but dogs are always true, and they will selflessly lay down their lives to protect what they love." "Stubby's story transcends time, in that the story of a dog's loyalty, bravery and devotion to his human companions will always strike a chord with the American public, dog lovers that we are," says Kathleen Golden, curator of the National Museum of American History's Division of Armed Forces History. The rugged little canine would become the first dog to be given the rank-Sergeant-in the U.S. Stubby later attacked a German soldier as he was mapping out the layout of Allied trenches, leading to the spy's capture.īy the end of World War I, Stubby had served in 17 battles and survived at least two life-threatening injuries-including shrapnel in his chest and leg. Stubby, a Staffordshire terrier mix ran from soldier to soldier, barking and alerting them to the danger. Roused from his sleep, one member of the infantry's Yankee Division leaped into action. It was then, in the early morning hours, when the German Army decided to unleash another attack: mustard gas. soldiers fell asleep in vermin-infested trenches. Although poison gas was never used against Britain during the Second World War, masks like this became another common symbol of wartime life. After days and nights of shelling, the exhausted U.S. Heavy artillery gunfire and grenade assaults from the Central Powers soon followed. 102nd Infantry reached the front lines of France at Chemin des Dames, north of Soissons. Britain experimented with anthrax on remote Scottish islands to see its impact on the animal population there. The Americans also had sizeable quantities of poison gases stockpiled. By 1945, the Germans had 7,000 tons of Sarin alone – enough to kill the occupants of 30 cities the size of Paris. There is no doubt that most protagonists in World War Two had stockpiles of poison gas. The US Army Manual TM 3-215 estimated that a victim of Soman would be dead within two minutes. From inhalation, it is only a matter of seconds before a victim goes into convulsions. Of the three nerve gases named here, Soman was the most deadly. Sarin and Soman were also developed as nerve gases. The symptoms are nausea, vomiting, muscular twitching, convulsions, cessation of breathing and death. Nerve gases attack the body’s nervous system. One of the first to be developed was Tabun by German scientists. Nerve gas was also available to governments in World War Two. “Death is rapid, sure and relatively painless.” (Brian Ford) Unable to gain oxygen, the body quickly shuts down. All of these impede the ability of blood to absorb oxygen. A more severe version of it was Lewisite which had the same effect on skin but also caused respiratory problems and pneumonia.įar more deadly than these gases were cyanide, carbon monoxide and cyanogens chloride. Lasting for 267 days, the Blitz rendered 1.4 million people homeless and killed 9,000 civilians in London. It was also capable of soaking through material onto skin beneath a uniform. Kids Playing in Gas Masks and Other Spooky Photos from World War II. Mustard gas blistered the skin causing extreme pain. Tear gases were also available – a more potent version of it was Adamsite which not only causes the classic symptoms of tear gas but also causes respiratory problems, vomiting and general nausea. It dates from World War II when the British government gave everyone in Britain a gas mask as protection against possible poison gas attacks by the Germans. Both of these were choking gases that damaged the respiratory system. This red and blue mask was for a two to five year old child. Chlorine was a potential weapon but it had been overtaken in effectiveness by diphosgene and carbonyl chloride. Mustard gas had been used by the Italians in their campaign in Abyssinia from 1935 to 1936. The gases used to such effect in World War One were still potential weapons in World War Two. |
